Tourism: Empowering migrant communities to strengthen local economic development

TOURISM LED explored how migrants communities have used their cultural heritage in tourism initiatives to generate income and contribute social and economic development to their new region. Partners shared best practice examples from their regions as a way to generate ideas for other regions.

PROJECT ACTIVITIES

State of the Art Report: This analysed the situation of local tourism post COVID-19 and the employment/business opportunities for migrants in the tourism sector and identify skills gap and training needs.

Online handbook: provides examples of best practice/ ‘ideas bank’ on how social, cultural and historical heritage has been used to generate tourism business.

Community Network Tool Box: shares how to develop networks with local and migrant communities.

Learning Platform: with free access to all training and resources.
