Peace IV Cross Border Heritage project
This project includes a series of 6 study visits and workshops to engage and develop sustained linkages through shared heritage between Mid Ulster District Council and Donegal County Council and groups within these areas.
Visits includes sites which focus on The O’Neill and clans of Ancient Ulster with significance for Mid Ulster and Donegal such as Tullyhogue Fort, Cookstown and Grianán of Aileach, Innishowen, Donegal followed by workshops with speakers expert in areas such as Gaelic Ireland and the Plantation.
The Decade of Commemorations
The “Decade of Commemorations” marks the 100th anniversary of events which shaped and influenced British & Irish History such as The Ulster Covenant, First World War, Easter Rising, Battle of the Somme and Act of Partition. A series of talks with expert historians as well as a memorabilia roadshow and DVD of local sites of historical interest were organised to share the historical events. more..
