St Tighernach also known as St Tiarnach, Patron Saint of Clones and Bishop of Clogher (506-549) is celebrated annually on 4 April each year in Clones, County Monaghan. It commemorates the life and legacy of St. Tigernach, (506-549) who died on 4th April 549 in Clones.
St. Tigernach founded the monastery in Clones, which became the most important monastic site in Monaghan for centuries.

Clogher Forum joined Clones Community Forum at their annual cross-denominational event to celebrate St. Tigernach’s Day, commemorating his contributions to the town. The day is also recognized by various schools, clubs, and organizations in the area that use St. Tigernach’s name.
